Iron Fitting

This is where the frequency analyzer earns its keep. An iron set built without it can carry a two- or three-club spread in shaft stiffness that no golfer ever notices consciously — just inconsistently.

Set Consistency

Every Shaft Clamped, Plucked, and Charted

Each candidate shaft goes on the analyzer individually, and we chart the whole set's cycles-per- minute progression before a single club gets built. A tight, even step-down means a swing that works on the 6-iron works the same way on the 7 and 8.

Dynamic lie angle gets checked with impact tape at full speed, not a static bench reading alone — a club can measure correctly sitting still and still deliver differently under real swing speed.

The Variables

What Actually Moves in an Iron Fitting

Dynamic Lie Angle

Read off impact tape at full swing speed on the strike plate, then adjusted on the loft-lie machine and rechecked.

Length

Wrist-to-floor measurement sets the starting point; the actual dispersion pattern confirms it from there.

Shaft Frequency Progression

Every shaft in the set gets matched to a consistent cycles-per-minute step-down, club to club.

Carry Gapping

Distance between each club charted, so a 15-yard gap between the 6 and 7 doesn't slip past unnoticed.

Head Type

Forged blades, players' cavity-backs, or game-improvement heads — tested head to head under identical bench conditions.

Grip Size

Undersized or oversized grips change hand action through impact, quietly shifting face angle at contact.

Get a Set That Steps Down Evenly

Full iron set appointments run 60–90 minutes and include a complete frequency chart. You leave with a printed spec card either way.
